Experienced Core Classes

Experienced dance classes available at our dance studio in Matthews, NC

Havilah Dance Company offers a range of classes for experienced and advanced dancers ages 4 through 18 years old who are looking to improve and build upon their previous dance training. Classes are ideal for students who have at least one year of dance experience or related training. Our Experienced level classes are designed to stimulate and challenge our advancing students while promoting enjoyment of dance as a athletic activity, creative outlet, discipline, and art form. Classes at HDC provide a natural progression for the adolescent through teenaged experienced dancer.

Fall 2026-27 Core Curriculum

Experienced 200 (Ages 4-6) Tuesdays or Saturdays

Experienced 200 is the perfect class for our progressing dancers and focuses on ballet, tap and tumbling. Classes are 60 minutes and offered on either every Tuesday from 4:00PM to 5:00PM, or every Saturday from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. Leotard, tights, PINK 'Luna' ballet shoes w/out drawstring (Capezio V100), and 'MaryJane' Tap Shoe in CARAMEL (Capezio 3800).

*Required Prerequisites: Beginner 101 or equivalent experience.

Experienced 201 (Ages 6-8) Wednesdays or Saturdays

Experienced 201 is the perfect class for our progressing dancers and focuses on ballet, tap, tumbling and jazz technique. Classes are 60 minutes and offered either every Wednesday from 5:00-6:00 PM, or every Saturday from 11:00-12:00PM. Leotard, tights, PINK 'Luna' ballet shoes w/out drawstring (Capezio V100), 'MaryJane' Tap Shoe in CARAMEL (Capezio 3800) and 'Super Jazz' Jazz Shoes in TAN (style: Bloch S0401L).

*Required Prerequisite: Beginner 101, Beginner 102, Experienced 200, or equivalent experience.

Experienced 202 (Ages 8-11) Mondays or Saturdays

Experienced 202 is the perfect class for our progressing dancers and focuses on jazz, tap and ballet technique. Classes are 60 minutes and offered either every Monday from 5:45-6:45 PM, or every Saturday from 11:45AM-12:45PM. Leotard, tights, dance shorts or pants, PINK 'Luna' ballet shoes w/out drawstring (Capezio V100), 'TicTapToe' Tap Shoe in BLACK (Capezio 443A) and 'Super Jazz' Jazz Shoes in TAN (style: Bloch S0401L).

*Required Prerequisite: Beginner 102, Experienced 201, or equivalent experience.

Experienced 300 (Ages 9-12) Wednesdays

Experienced 300 is the perfect class for our progressing dancers and focuses on jazz, tap and ballet technique. Classes are 75 minutes and every Wednesday from 6:45-8:00 PM. Leotard, tights, dance shorts or pants, Downtown' Tap Shoe in BLACK (Capezio 473), 'Super Jazz' Jazz shoes in TAN (style: block S0401L) are required.

*Required Prerequisite: Beginner 102, Experienced 201, or equivalent

Experienced 301 (Ages 12-15) Saturdays

Dancers will focus on learning more advanced combinations & technique focused specifically on Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary styles. Dancers will improve on mental and physical agility as well as overall style. Experienced dancers who display a basic understanding of technique, discipline and learn at a faster pace for this level. Classes will include deep stretching, conditioning, leaps and turns and more challenging combinations center floor. Classes are 75 minutes on Saturdays from 9:00 - 10:15AM.

Leotard, sports bra, dance shorts or leggings, Downtown' Tap Shoe in BLACK (Capezio 473), 'Super Jazz' Jazz shoes in TAN (style: block S0401L) are required.

Experienced 302 (Ages 13 & up) Tuesdays

Dancers will focus on learning more advanced combinations & technique focused specifically on Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary styles. Dancers will improve on mental and physical agility as well as overall style. Experienced dancers who display a basic understanding of technique, discipline and learn at a faster pace for this level. Classes will include deep stretching, conditioning, leaps and turns and more challenging combinations center floor. Classes are 90 minutes on Tuesdays from 7:30- 9:00PM.

Leotard, sports bra, dance shorts or leggings, tan bloch super jazz S0401 shoes and pirouette lyrical shoes are required.

2026-27 RECREATIONAL PROGRAM PRICING

Monthly Tuition
Tuition is based on the length of the dancer's primary weekly class:

30 minutes - $70/month
45 minutes - $85/month
60 minutes - $95/month
75 minutes - $105/month
90 minutes - $110/month
1 hour 45 minutes - $115/month
2 hours - $125/month

Additional Classes: $25 per additional class, per month. The longest class is calculated first at the regular tuition rate.

TUITION & PAYMENT POLICY

For the 2026-27 dance season, tuition is based on a 10.5-month season for both Recreational and Company dancers, Tuition runs through June 2027.
Tuition is due on the 1st of each month and must be set up for automatic payment through the HDC Parent Portal beginning September 1, 2026. Monthly tuition will be processed between the 1st and 10th of each month using the credit card, debit card, or bank/ACH account designated for automatic payment in the Parent Portal.
Families enrolled in automatic tuition payments by bank account draft/ACH will receive a $10 monthly tuition discount.
A $22 late fee will be applied to accounts with unpaid tuition after the 10th of the month and will continue to be assessed each month until the account is brought current.
A $35 fee will be charged for any returned payment, including NSF checks or unsuccessful electronic payments.
Monthly tuition is based on the full season and does not change due to absences, holidays, studio closures already built into the season calendar, or the number of class meetings in a particular month.

REGISTRATION FEE & RECITAL FEES

Registration Fee: $55 for one dancer OR $70 per family, annually.
Recital Costume Fee: Generally estimated between $80-$150 per costume.
Recital Participation Fee: Generally estimated between $185-$225 per dancer OR $215-$250 per family, depending on the season and applicable recital structure. Final amounts and due dates will be communicated during the season.
Participation in HDC's year-end recital is an important part of the season for dancers enrolled in recital-participating classes.
Classes specifically marked "No Recital Performance" do not participate in the recital unless otherwise communicated by the instructor/directors.
Recital fees help to cover all of the costs involved in presenting a professional production that all of our students and families can be very proud of! This fee includes but is not limited to: tickets to the show, recital t-shirt for the student(s), family program, award for the student(s), auditorium rental for dress rehearsal and the show, professional stage props and equipment, clean up crew, and a sound and lighting team who work backstage.
