BEGINNER LEVELS - for our first year students, there is a class for every age!
TINY TOT 100/pre-school (ages 2-3): 45 minutes of fun that includes creative movement, pre-ballet, and tumbling. The perfect introduction to dance! / leotard, tights, and pink ballet shoes required
ROCK N TOT 100 (age 2-4): Rock N Tot is a BRAND NEW class we are excited to offer for students in the fall! This class is designed with the creative, curious, and energetic child in mind! The curriculum will cover pre-jazz, pre-hiphop, creative movement, and tumbling! / comfortable clothes (t-shirt, shorts, etc.) and tennis shoes required
TUMBLING 101 (ages 4-6): Students will work on basic tumbling progressions: forward rolls, backward rolls, handstand drills, and cartwheels. We will focus a great deal on flexibility, balance, core strength, and gain a deeper understanding of the role flexibility plays in dance and acrobatics.
BEGINNER 101 (ages 3-5): Perfect for the new dancer! Ballet basics, creative movement, and rhythm tap keep this 45-minute class moving week after week! Magical sing-a-long music stimulates our younger dancers. / leotard, tights, pink Capezio ballet shoes, & white tap shoes required
BEGINNER 102 (ages 6-10): Designed with the older beginner in mind! This 45-minute class combines fun tap rhythms, classical technique, and high-energy jazz combinations to upbeat, age appropriate music! / leotard, tights, pink Capezio ballet shoes, tan Capezio Mary-Jane tap shoes required
HIPHOP 101 (ages 5-8) A fun filled class where dancers can learn the latest hip-hop moves and technique, while promoting physical health and agility. Combinations encourage dancers to be creative and promote their own unique style. / t-shirt, shorts or sweats, tennis shoes required
EXPERIENCED LEVELS - Our Experienced level classes are designed to stimulate and challenge our advancing students while promoting enjoyment of dance as an outlet, discipline, and art form. Classes at HDC provide a natural progression for the adolescent and teen experienced dancer.
EXPERIENCED 200/formerly primary I (ages 4-6): ballet, tap, tumbling / leotard, tights, pink Capezio ballet, tan Capezio 3800 tap shoes required
EXPERIENCED 201/formerly primary II (ages 5-7): ballet, tap, tumbling, jazz technique / leotard, tights, pink Capezio ballet shoes, tan Capezio 3800 tap shoes required
EXPERIENCED 202/formerly primary III (ages 7-9): tap, jazz, ballet technique / leotard, tights, dance shorts/pants, pink split-sole Capezio 3800 tap shoes, tan Bloch super jazz S0401 jazz shoes required
TUMBLING 200/formerly teenie tumbling (ages 4-7): Students will work on basic and intermediate tumbling progressions and will be introduced to acro tricks. For students who are advancing quickly, they will begin to focus on more challenging acro/tumbling skills such as front/back walkovers, cartwheel variations (including no-hand cartwheels), chin stand variations, etc. We will focus a great deal on flexibility and gain a deeper understanding of the role flexibility & strength play in dance and acrobatics.
HIPHOP 200 (ages 9-14) A fun filled class where dancers can learn the latest hip-hop moves and technique, while promoting physical health and agility. Combinations encourage dancers to be creative and promote their own unique style. / t-shirt, shorts or sweats, tennis shoes required
EXPERIENCED 300/formerly intermediate I (ages 9-13: technique, jazz, tap): This class is the next step! Our experienced instructors begin to put a concentration on center work in tap and jazz. More advanced combinations are taught, improving mental and physical agility as well as style. We recommend students begin taking a classical ballet class in addition to the intermediate class to advance their technique level. / leotard, tights, dance shorts/leggings, tan Bloch super jazz S0401 jazz shoes, CG17 or CG55 tap shoes required
EXPERIENCED 301/formerly intermediate II (ages 13-18: technique, jazz, tap, lyrical): Students should display a basic understanding of technique, discipline, and learn at a faster pace for this level. Class instruction will include deep stretching, conditioning, leaps and turns, and more challenging combinations center floor. Classes are exciting to both the instructor(s) and students! / leotard, dance shorts or pants, tan Block super jazz S0401 shoes, CG17 or CG55 tap shoes required
BALLET 300/formerly intermediate ballet (ages 10-15): A classical ballet class for the experienced and advancing ballerina and dancer who would like to focus on and improve their technical skills. / pink tights, black leotard, Capezio split-sole ballet shoes required.
TUMBLING 300/formerly mini tumbling (ages 7-11): Students will work on intermediate and advanced tumble and acro skills. Examples of tricks the curriculum will focus on are: front/back walkovers, cartwheel variations (including no-hand cartwheels), chin stand variations, sugar rolls, handstand tricks (including valdez, rolling tinsica, etc.) back hand springs and more. We will focus a great deal on flexibility and gain a deeper understanding of the role flexibility & strength play in dance and acrobatics.
ADVANCED LEVELS - Our Advanced Level classes are placement based. In order to be placed in an Advanced or Company Level class, reach out to our Havilah Dance Co. staff at email@example.com and we would be thrilled to discuss available options. Placement may require a private evaluation.
ADVANCED CLASSES OFFERED - Classical Ballet, Acro/Tumbling, Pre-pointe, Pointe, Leaps & Turns, Technique
COMPANY CLASSES OFFERED - Pre-Competitive & Competitive | Students must audition at HDC's yearly bootcamp in August in order to be considered for our Company Team. In rare cases the exception can be made for a private evaluation if bootcamp has passed. We want YOU to join our HDC SQUAD!
*'First class free' applies ONLY to regular season classes (classes that meet weekly from August-May) in the Beginner or Experienced Levels Only. 'First class free' does not apply to summer classes, camps, intensives, clinics, special events, workshops, or Company Level classes. Drop in classes on the Advanced Level may be offered at a $25 rate per class.
